Take time for yourself – to restore your energy, wellbeing, and sense of self, returning home confident, calm and rejuvenated at every level of being.

23-29 April 2026 ~ R I S E ~ is a retreat for women who feel ready for renewal, clarity, and a steady sense of inner strength. It offers time to step away from daily responsibilities, reconnect with what feels essential, and restore energy in a quiet and supportive setting.

The retreat brings together the calming and flowing qualities of Qi Gong, and the intuitive, devotional, embodied expression of Yoga. This gentle fusion supports transition, personal growth, and the experience of moving forward with grace.

Held in Ubud, the retreat is also deeply enriched by Balinese spiritual culture. The week includes a traditional Melukat water purification ceremony, a sacred fire ceremony, pilgrimage to the Besakih Mother Temple, and a deeply restorative sound healing immersion, creating a holistic journey that nurtures body, heart, and spirit.

Across seven days, mornings centre on Qi Gong and meditation to cultivate ease and presence. Afternoons and evenings deepen into yin yoga, contemplative movement, reflection, ceremony, and spacious time for integration.

~ R I S E ~ offers a calm and nourishing environment for women to feel supported, replenished, and aligned with a clear and confident sense of direction.

Your facilitators Mandy and Jemma have been friends and collaborators for decades. Together they bring a shared depth of experience in yoga, qi gong, meditation, somatic healing and women’s work, offering a grounded, compassionate space that supports renewal, clarity and embodied strength.

about our daily sessions

Morning Meditation & Qi Gong
Each morning begins gently with meditation and Qi Gong, helping the body feel settled, the breath steady, and the day to open with a calm, centred presence.

Breakast
Our daily breakfasts are included and are fresh, nourishing and vegetarian – served in our private dining pavilion.

~ R I S E ~ Women's Healing Workshops
The Rise Women’s Workshops with Mandy and Jemma embody the heart of the retreat — an empowering and compassionate process of reconnecting with inner confidence, self-worth, and a deeper sense of presence and possibility.

Within these sessions, the work unfolds through guided reflection, embodied awareness, and gentle inner enquiry. Drawing on somatic therapy, attachment-informed EMDR principles, mindfulness-based counselling, and practices that support nervous system regulation, Jemma offers a grounded and caring approach that helps you tend to emotional wounds, restore balance, and reconnect with your inner clarity.

Mandy draws practices from ancient feminine-centred yogic traditions that honour women’s wisdom, beauty, and inherent spiritual strength. Through mantra, goddess-centred embodiment, intuitive movement, and contemplative journalling, the practices cultivate self-worth and inner radiance, offering a pathway back to trust in oneself when life has felt challenging or disorienting.

Free Afternoons
Relax deeply at our beautiful venue, indulge in massages at the in-house spa, or any of the nearby spas and healing centres. You can enjoy lunch at the venue which is lovely and inexpensive You may like to visit the nearby Ubud markets and stores. We're a short walk from both the Royal Palace and the spectacular Monkey Forest.

Evening Yin, Yoga Nidra, Meditation
Our afternoon, evening sessions are about integration. The practices are quiet, deep and nourishing, connecting us back to the essence and source of energy, potential, wisdom and love. Practices include somatic yin yoga, pranayama, mantra, meditation, yoga nidra.

Evenings
Explore the many vegan, vegetarian and organic restaurants of Ubud. There are many options for dining within close walking distance of the retreat centre. Dinner is at your own expense (except for first and last night where we host incredible vegan celebration dinners).

Mandy is director of Kookaburra Yoga, and co-owner of Kookaburra Yoga Sanctuary. She has decades experience teaching the subtle, powerful and transformational methods of traditional yoga and tantra, and creating and leading retreats, teacher trainings and beautiful yogic experiences. Her knowledge and insights have been inspired through devotion, consistent practice, higher education in yoga, Ayurveda, the arts, and integration of yogic values into family and professional life. Mandy continues to study with her own teachers AG Mohan and Indra Mohan and is always learning and evolving. Yoga has been a support throughout her personal and professional life, and she teaches and shares soulful, spiritual yoga which is relevant, practical, accessible and profoundly beautiful.

Jemma has over twenty years experience working with clients on personal and psychological issues using established and varied psychotherapy and counselling modalities combined with mindfulness, movement and body awareness methods. This offers an increased focus on body/somatic experiences and an individuals unique experience and process. Jemma seamlessly weaves somatic psychotherapeutic techniques, with neuroscience and ancient wisdoms in a gentle, trauma informed and trauma sensitive environment.
