This Spring we welcome you to beautiful Kookaburra Creek to participate in these free absolute beginners level classes, sponsored by the City of Armadale and LiveLighter. No experience of yoga is necessary! All are welcome.

LiveLighter free yoga classes

Always wanted to try yoga? Kookaburra Yoga, together with the City of Armadale and LiveLighter are offering a limited number of free Yoga and Meditation classes this Spring, and everyone is welcome!

Our LiveLighter classes are inclusive - we truly welcome everyone, even if you have no knowledge or experience of yoga at all. In absolute beginners yoga there is an emphasis on yogic exercise - safely stretching, strengthening and relaxing through a series of yogic movements, breathing and relaxation techniques.

During these 60 minute classes, you'll learn about the 5 aspects of traditional yoga which include yoga exercise, breathing, relaxation, meditation and how to cultivate a peaceful, purposeful and healthy approach to everyday living. There is a specific focus on the movement and exercise aspects of yoga, exploring your body's natural movement pathways and capacities, then introducing ways to restore balance and wellbeing.

Our experienced and caring teachers at Kookaburra Creek welcome students of all levels and of all ages and will introduce you to the different aspects of yoga including meditation, mindfulness and a little about the underlying philosophy and benefits of yoga. These classes are super gentle, slow and suitable for all levels including absolute beginners.

Kookaburra Creek is a beautiful studio in nature, only 5 minutes from Armadale. A peaceful place to learn and practice yoga - the peace, calm, self-understanding, vitality and wellbeing which comes with attending can potentially transform your life.

You'll learn the key aspects of Yoga which include: yogic exercise, breathing practices, relaxation practices, meditation and everyday mindfulness. This is an ancient, holistic system of self-care and self-realisation which positively influences and supports every aspect of yourself including your body, mind, emotions, creativity, intuition, spirituality.

We welcome you to come along and try it out  - even if you feel like you’re not flexible, not in perfect health - all practices can be adapted and modified to be of benefit to you, and you are welcome. Kids are also welcome and come at no charge when attending with their parent/s (please specify when booking). They must be willing to participate and follow the class protocol.

About Yoga
Yoga, meditation and mindfulness are powerful traditions proven to improve your physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing when practiced regularly, safely and in an organised and sequential way. When these are combined into a meaningful, intelligent and focussed system you’ll experience the benefits quickly and profoundly.

Yoga is a systematic method to healing, balancing and understanding every aspect of ourselves. It was succinctly articulated by the great Indian sage Patanjali more than 1500 years ago and is more than relevant today!

Modern yoga classes are still based upon this philosophy and methodology. This system of traditional yoga is comprised of eight 'limbs' which are articulated and expanded upon in our courses and classes at Kookaburra Creek.

We recommend the LiveLighter classes as a starting point to learn to manage stress, restore balance and wellness and increase the strength and resilience of the physical body. Relaxation becomes second nature and meditation becomes a joy!

Why do our LiveLighter classes
  • You'll learn the tools and strategies from the yoga traditions to manage stress, tension, anxiety and rediscover happiness and peacefulness.
  • You receive background information on the practices to fully understand the reasons and benefits of practicing yoga.
  • Attending regular yoga classes can sometimes be daunting and you need to be sure you can safely participate. We have designed these classes to keep you safe, put you at ease and provide a foundation of knowledge you can build on over time.
  • Kookaburra classes are not religious or sectarian. We provide a broad and holistic introduction to the various aspects of yoga which include exercise, breathing, relaxation, meditation and stress management strategies.
  • Our LiveLighter classes are designed for absolute beginners and anyone who would like to practice at this gentle, introductory level.
