Havan, Meditation & Dinner
Monthly during the cooler months
We set dates for these lovely community events throughout the year. Coinciding with the powerful full moon, these evenings include a guided meditation indoors with some chanting of beautiful mantras. We then go outdoors for a powerful, participatory Vedic fire ceremony which lasts about 40 minutes. Following this we enjoy a warming, nourishing dinner of soup, salad and bread. |
Next Havan Meditation and Dinner

Small rituals woven into the tapestry of our lives are a portal to the spiritual, connecting to the divine through prayer and universal mantras for peace, healing and success. We remember, and even our cells remember, the simplicity, beauty and freedom of a still mind and awakened spirit.
|
There are two basic energy systems in the physical world: Heat and Sound. In performing Yagna (havan), these two energies, namely the heat from the Yagna's fire and the sound of the Gayatri and other Mantras, are combined to achieve the desired physical, psychological and spiritual benefits.

Havan & MeditationThe Havan is a beautiful and transformative ritual incorporating meditation, Vedic mantras and a specific sacred fire ceremony, performed by priests and householders alike - very much part of ashram and family life in India.
The havan helps us to purify, rejuvenate and protect the heart, the mind, the soul of all in attendance and to cleanse the air and environment. Rituals such as the Havan provide us with the opportunity to reflect upon life, cultivate and express gratitude, release past hurts we may be holding onto and inner obstacles to our happiness and fulfilment. Only then are we free to move forwards with a clear, unburdened heart. The Havan is a specific process aimed at refinement of the subtle energy existing in matter incorporating the power and intent of specific Vedic mantras to bring about purification and healing of not only the individuals in attendance but also the environment. Join Robert and Mandy at Kookaburra Creek to experience this traditional ritual which leads quite naturally to profound and insightful meditation. The program starts indoors in the yoga hall with a meditation and preparation. We then go to our outdoor area for the Havan which is followed by dinner. We provide a simple, nourishing dinner for all in attendance to enjoy. If you would also like to bring some food to share you are very welcome to do so. |
