Calm, happy kidsKookaburra Yoga's kids classes introduce yoga and meditation to children in a fun, relaxing and accessible way. Kids learn yoga through movement, songs, games, yoga breathing, guided meditations, yoga poems and songs, traditional yoga poses and art. For kids who get stressed, worried or can't sleep sometimes...there are yoga and breathing exercises which help them to feel calm no matter what!
Kids love the classes because they are fun and dynamic, as well relaxing, meditative and informative. They are taught various poses and techniques and we explain the benefits of doing them. Children learn important skills in the classes which will help see them through the challenging teenage years ahead. On a deep, somatic level, children will learn to breathe deeply, transform negative thought patterns and responses, manage stress, enjoy good health and establish a spiritual context for life experiences. Learning yoga as a child provides a strong foundation for life. Through the skills learnt in yoga classes, children learn to manage stress, be healthy, and most importantly have some control over their emotions, moods and behaviour. Yoga has been proven to strengthen the body, regulate moods and prevent illness, while meditation helps children concentrate better at school, display greater imagination, control moods and behavioural problems, and have a healthy, positive outlook on life. |

Dani Woolhouse
Dani discovered yoga as a young adult and attended regular classes as a way to manage the stress and demands of her corporate career. Having been a keen equestrian competitor, she has been managing some long term injuries and found great benefit in regular yoga practice After more than a decade of regular practice Dani completed her 500 hour Hatha Yoga Method teacher training at Kookaburra yoga. Here Dani deepened her knowledge and practice of yoga and found a great love in sharing the many benefits of yoga with her community. Having trained and worked as an education assistant Dani has a keen interest in sharing the many gifts of yoga with children, and partners with several local organisations to offer leadership and wellness programs into Western Australian primary and high schools. Dani also enjoys teaching gentle hatha yoga classes to adults, tailored to all levels from beginners to more advanced students. Dani and her family are local members of our community residing in the Kelmscott hills. In her spare time Dani enjoys time in nature and travelling with her young family. |
